The GOLC invites you to submit your successful Online Laboratory course, site, and product or success story, from a university or other institution or school. Awards will be given for outstanding laboratories in three categories.
Visualized Experiments: Visualized experiment is focused on observation only for coming to the conclusion / fulfilling objective of the experiments. It can be both "purely digital content" and "real-hardware supported".
Simulated Experiments: Any laboratory with multiple experiments that do not have any physical hardware, but take inputs from the users changing the parameters of the experimental process. Instead of a real hardware, the experiments use a simulation engine or similar tool of some kind.
Remote Controlled Experiments: Any laboratory with multiple experiments that is built upon a real hardware and users can give inputs changing the parameters and process of the experimental hardware. Multiple experiments may be based on the same hardware setup or different hardware setup.
You are invited to submit a proposal for the 2024 International Online Laboratory Awards, presented by the Global Online Laboratory Consortium (GOLC) as part of the International Association of Online Engineering (IAOE). With this award, GOLC and IAOE search for stellar examples of online laboratories in educational settings from all STEM fields.
Awards will be given for outstanding laboratories in three categories:
GOLC is an international group of researchers and practitioners under the umbrella of IAOE that brings together researchers and practitioners in all forms of online experimentation. GOLC's involvement in international conferences and relevant journals and its strong membership base continue to advance the state of the art of the online laboratory field worldwide in all areas of education.
The awardees will be announced in March 2024 during the The International Conference on Smart Technologies & Education (STE) in Helsinki, Finland (https://ste-conference.org/current/). It is not required to attend the conference to enter the competition. However, the award winners in each category will receive one free STE 2024 conference ticket for one person per category to accept the award in person.
Submissions deadline: 15th October 2023 (Submissions are possible from 01 August 2023)
The Entry Submission Page is part of the STE2024 ConfTool.
Please find all the details in the Award Call, then please fill in the application form here: Entry Form and submit it via the STE2024 Conference Submission Server.
